Size Guide
Choosing the right size of bed and mattress can be confusing - this guide aims to make bed and mattress sizes as clear as possible.
We now supply all our mattresses with matching divan bases - check the 'divan base' tabs on each mattress page for details.
Standard UK mattress sizes
These are standard UK mattress sizes - the majority of UK bought beds will follow these sizes.
- 2ft 6 (Small Single) - these mattresses are 2'6" x 6'3" (75cm x 190cm)
- 3ft (Single) - these mattresses are 3' x 6'3" (90cm x 190cm)
- 4ft (Small Double) - these mattresses are 4' x 6'3" (120cm x 190cm)
- 4ft 6 (Double) - these mattresses are 4'6" x 6'3" (135cm x 190cm)
- 5ft (King) - these mattresses are 5' x 6'6" (150cm x 200cm)
- 6ft (Super King) - these mattresses are 6' x 6'6" (180cm x 200cm)
European mattress sizes
These sizes are not usually sold in the UK - some retailers provide beds in European sizes (such as a notable Swedish company)
- European Single - these mattresses are 3'3" x 6'6" (90cm x 200cm)
- European Double - these mattresses are 4'7 x 6'6" (140cm x 200cm)
- European King - these mattresses are 5'3 x 6'6" (160cm x 200cm)
- European Super King - these mattresses are 6'6" x 6'6" (200cm x 200cm)
Bed frame sizes
Bed frame sizes are measured by the size of mattress that they fit. For example, a bed frame described as a 4ft 6 (double) bed frame will take a standard UK double mattress.
