FAQs - General

Will you deliver my order free?

If you live on mainland UK, we will deliver your order for nothing, no matter what the order is. If you are outside mainland UK, please email us at info@bedandmattress, supplying your address, for further information.

Can I visit your shop?

Yes! In fact we would encourage it if you are local. Unlike many web retailers, we are a bricks-and-mortar shop. You can come and visit us, and even collect your order in person if you would like!

Which mattress should I choose?

This is such a frequently asked question that we have prepared our own guide about how to choose a mattress, so you can be fully aware of the options, and what the choices are.

Why redesign a successful website?

www.bedandmattress.co.uk had been transactional for more than six months when we re-launched the site. The initial site had been a success, but based on customer feedback, we felt that we could find a way to offer better information to our customers, as well as making more choices available.

The resulting re-design isn't simply a new face to the old site - we've added more product information, product options, and hopefully made our site more comprehensive without compromising on ease of use.

FAQs - Memory Foam

Isn't memory foam a gimmick?

Absolutely not! We often have customers who are unsure about memory foam because of bad reports they have heard, or bad experiences. The truth is that memory foam has been around for about 15 years now, and is here to stay. As we have begun to understand physiology and sleep better, and new materials have been manufactured, we can provide better sleeping surfaces than in the past. We still offer sprung mattresses for those who really don't want to change, but memory foam really is the way of the future.

I've heard memory foam 'sleeps hot' - is that true?

Because memory foam is able to contour itself to the shape of your body, more heat is trapped than would be with a traditional sprung mattress. A mattress with a very deep layer of memory foam would allow you to sink into it too far and subsequently overheat. High quality memory foam mattresses do not suffer from this problem because they support the body and do not allow it to sink in the same way.

I bought a cheap memory foam mattress, and it's terrible!

Unfortunately there are many cheap products on the market claiming to be memory foam mattresses. Often these are an ineffective thin layer of memory foam on top of a low-grade reflex foam base. This sort of mattress will never feel comfortable or support you as you sleep.

You spend an average of 8 hours a night in your bed - itr really is worth investing a few hundred pounds more, and getting something you will be comfy in for the next decade.
